The German Environment Agency and the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection are taking the 50th anniversary of the publication of the Club of Rome’s landmark report ‘The Limits to Growth’ as an opportunity to take a closer look at the conclusions drawn from the debate on the limits to growth from a consumer perspective: What are the limits to consumption? What and how much less is good enough? How can globally generalizable consumption patterns be defined within planetary boundaries? And would post-growth actually fundamentally change our lifestyles?<\/p>\n
The aim of the conference is to embed the abstract discussion based on economic indicators and global planetary boundaries in an everyday context and to make it more concrete. Special attention will be paid to the contribution of individual accounting tools for the concretization of sustainable lifestyles.<\/p>\n
